07.26.2020 Signs of the time

It is very popular for residents of our local communities to post signs on their front lawns. You will see all types of political signs, graduation congratulations signs and social justice signs.  To me, the one sign that has had the most impact was a handwritten one I found along the way:

In every country around the world, there are victims of social injustice for any number of reasons. To personalize the injustice, saying the names of the victims makes the injustice all the more real. It is hard to ignore something when there is a name and a face that makes it a reality and not just a news story.

What can we do? We can all try to be a part of the solution. We can exhibit kindness and  tolerance to everyone we encounter. It may not always be easy, but it is worth the effort. And we can teach our children to do the same. What they see, they mimic. If we teach our children well we will make a positive impact in this world. Say their names - and do something positive.  All lives matter.

07.04.2020 Happy 4th of July

It is hard to believe that it is already the 4th of July. Where has the summer gone!?!?!?! It seems like it was just March when we were ordered to stay at home and now it is the middle of summer. and what a better way to spend the 4th than with an ice cream treat.

Here is Shorty enjoying this rare treat.

Gunnarr cannot be distracted from his treat.

And Fionnegan is totally enjoying the treat. It has been three months since they have had a proper haircut although they do get a trim form time to time.

Total concentration on the treat.

Fionn before and after haircut.

And here are Gunnarr before and after haircut pictures. I loved the long hair and didn't mind the frequent  baths to keep them clean and cool but they were hot.

Hope you all enjoy the day and the long holiday weekend. And maybe we will even find a firework display to watch in person - 6 feet away from the next person! Here are pictures downloaded from a previous Boston display. I love fireworks and planned my July 3rd and 4th evenings in previous years to enjoy as many displays as possible. Enjoy.

Until next time.......... stay well.
