02.26.19 Rio Grande Valley Birding - Part 3

We are just getting started!

A white winged dove. She is a beauty. You can almost hear Stevie Nicks singing about her. Coo baby coo baby coo.

Chacalaca. A shy ground bird but does fly into the trees for food and safety.

Curved bill thrasher. See the band on the left leg. This tracks migration.

OK, more white winged doves. They are just too cute to ignore!

Kiskadees. Not as easy to photograph as I thought they would be.  See the yellow crown on one of the birds?

A few red squirrels at the feeders. All in harmony.

Green jays. Very colorful. Very shy.

Everyone is looking around the corner!

Crimson collared grosbeak, female. Vagrant from Mexico and a rare siting. Here she is in Quinta Mazatlán World Birding Center.

It is time for me to get ready for work. Will post more beautiful birds from along the Rio Grande River and Valley very soon.
