02.26.19.Rio Grande Valley Birding Trip - Part 2.

Here are is the second groups of photographs taken along the Rio Grande Valley. We met  many very nice people who travel solo along this corridor birding. We were fortunate to see a few uncommon and rate birds and a few vagrants that flew up from the bordering mountains of Mexico.

Here are a few more for you to enjoy.

One gorgeous dog playing along the canal outside of Harlingen. Do you think she made me miss my own boys? Of course! Even though I enjoyed the change of pace with birding, I always miss Fionnegan, Gunnarr and Shorty.

A magnificent bird - the white tailed hawk. We saw a few fly over us over the course of the trip.

What a cute bird - this is a burrowing owl. She was nesting amongst the boulders.

These birds look like notes on a music sheet!

Sunset in Mc Allen, Texas. These parakeets and blackbirds flock to these wires on this one corner every night. When it gets dark, they leave to roost in a tree. What a sight. And so much squawking!

Eastern phoebe.

Kiskadees. Their call is just like their name - kiss-ka-dee!  Gorgeous birds.

Clay colored thrush.

There will be more to share. Hope you are enjoying these lovely birds.
