11/09/17 Honduras. Fireworks. Basilica. Picacho

We were back in the OR today and all went well. New assistants helped.
This is Dr. Villa, a gynecologic oncologist.

Doctora Pamela is a new intern on the service.

 Fernando, our scrub nurse.

Our nurse anesthetist. Notice the computer monitor with patient information. It works!

A scrub nurse helping in the other operating theater.

Great colors in the OR. And really nice nurses.

When we finished in the OR, Dr. Roberto and Dr. Andrea gave a lecture to a breast cancer support group. These women hold multiple charitable events to help offset the costs for patients with breast cancer.

Dr. Roberto giving his presentation.

He was given a certificate following his presentation. They all seemed to enjoy it. He does have a good sense of humor and a connection to the audience.

Doctora Andrea gave a very good presentation. She has a very good way of connecting with the audience as well and everyone appreciated her time and comments.

Entry to the women's surgical oncology ward.

A Christmas tree in the grocery store near the hospital.

After work, Andrea, Lizbeth and I went to the Basilica del Suyupa, Cristo del Picacho and lunch.
We had a great time.
You will have to read about the statue and miracles at Suyapa. The statue is in the Church, which Pope John Paul II visited in 1983.

Cristo del Picacho. Had the chance to go up the mountains and see the statue and park. These are now my pictures.

The weather changed quickly and blue skies were replaced with clouds.

Lizbeth and Andrea.

Great views of the city from up here. More pictures on the next post.
