11/11/17 TegucigalpaHonduras valley views

We had a great last day in the OR, then Dr. Roberto and Andrea. Verna and Karina took me to the Valley of the Angels. It was a great visit for a late lunch and tourist shopping!

The experience was very positive. The surgical oncology program is very good and I really enjoyed meeting the attendings and residents and nursing staff. We even had the opportunity to operate in the "old" ORs that are used by the other surgical service. Ours are devoted to oncology.

Here are a few pictures of the view of the city.

Saint Michael the Archangel Cathedral near the central park.

Restaurant stop for lunch. Table side guacamole preparation. Delicious.

Fireworks at night from just across the road. Great view on the hotel rooftop.

Street view of the Valley of the Angels. Arts and crafts shops line this pretty street, including some very nice stores for fine leather and pottery goods.

Displays in front of one artisan shop.

Some final photos of the hospital waiting areas, wards and the original OR at Hospital San Felipe.

From the nanny cam watching my boys. I can watch Gunnarr try to unlock the bottom gate. Sometimes he is able to slide  the fastener to open it. He also can climb over the top.  They watched Diane leave this morning, then decided to eat breakfast. Shorty finished his treats on his bed, then walked behind the pen and had a drink from his bowl, talked to the Fionn and Gunnarr, went back to watch out the door, then jumped back on his bed. What a life!
