More pictures from Ulithi - launching a motor boat.

Finally the storms eased and we were able to  travel to the other atolls of Ulithi. Our plan had been to go to Fedrai, Mogmog and Asor for the immunizations and school health examinations on Tuesday but we were delayed until Friday - our last working day.

For all of my Cottage Park Yacht Club friends - this  is how we launched and boarded boats without a dock!

This is Carlos getting the bins ready for transport.

The sequence of events as follows:

Now that the baot is launched,, we have to load it, then get the motor, and board.

So you just walk out to the boat and jump in. It was a bit deep for me, but clothes dry fast.

I am all settled and everyone is aboard. We had one problem - the motor would not start. All of the men had a turn at getting it started with no luck. Then Hilary turned tome and laughed - your turn. We traded motors with someone and took off ofr the 45 minute trip in this little boat to Fedrai.

Mark, the health assistant on Falalaup as well as out captain. Thomas is on our team.

The beautiful sea. Storm cloudes were still in the sky, with a small shower and a few really big swells. We had no problems and Mark is an excellent captain.

Fedrai.

Same process. Get out of the boat and unload.

Will post more Ulithi pictures soon.
