We had a really good visit there. It is nice to stay close to the community we served and spent time talking with them and visiting.
The following pictures are from Fedrai.
She is a little American. When I was holoding her she kept looking at my eyes - a different color from beautiful brown eyes!
This is her big sister, who was also born in Hawaii.
There is a lot of outward expression of love of children.
Dad flossing teeth for the baby. He was a very nie man.
Beautiful smiles. Camera a bit foggy becaue of the humidity.
This little girl is one tough cookie.
Peace Corps volunteer.
Baby in a basket.
Woman carrying her baby in a basket.
"Keep your eyes on the prize." My advice to this young man who wants to be a doctor. That means - no drinking, no drugs, study hard, make good grades. He is a very nice young man. And the kids really liked the expression. They were trying to memorize it, so I tore the lid off the bandaid box and wrote it for them.
Our boat. Single engine. It stalls, we are stranded.
Men's house.
Fresh fish.
Hilary.
Did not take photographs as we motored between islands. Saw a large group of dolphins, flying fish, noddies. Beautiful ride, large swells. Never a problem. Personal beacon locator firmly attached to life jacket.
Arriving in Asor. My team had to skip Mogmog but the other team covered them and Asor.
The team finished in Asor.
Heading back to Falalaup at sunset.
Kim wants to be a nurse. No time like the present to practice.
Daniel and my little sweetheat.
Another one of my sweethearts. In a pretty dress for her school examination.
Whose glasses is he wearing?
Vision tests as part of the school health examination. The man on the right is a teacher. Melissa in the back, Kim in the front.
A series of pictures of a young girl modeling her "grass" skirt. made of coconut fiber. Some are made of pandanus, some hibiscus.
Now we asked her to sway her hips and make a swshing sound of the air through the fibers.
Then she was all giggles!
