11.12.14 Future Doctors and Nurses of Micronesia

It has been very busy since the long weekend and I have been at the office and then working at home late. Tomorrow we have a meeting with the governor and cabinet about Ebola. Am also helping Andrew with the surgical outcomes project and I have yet another presentation on Friday.
Today was fun - we went to another early child care center to do exams and repeat hemoglobin levels. A few kids are anemic, and after treating for parasites, we repeat the hgb to see if there is an improvement. All but one was now in the normal range.

These kids are adorable. It is a smaller class than the others. Also, I  walk through this neighborhood/village regularly, so it was nice to see the school and the kids.

It is really hard to convince a four year old to have a finger pricked for a blood test.

He did it! Lots of tears and I dried them for him as he put his head on my side.

Then we played for a bit and it was time to go back to the office.
