12.21.14 Sunday just unfolds

Sometimes I just like to let the day unfold. And today was  one of those really nice days. Santa arrived on a float in a parade around the lagoon. There were activities for the kids - big and small. I stayed at the community center for a while, then in the afternoon headed for a walk - who knows where. I ran into  Heidi who invited me to the gathering at the youth center for songs in the evening. Then I was off walking up and down roads new and other familiar. Went to the lower reservoir - much smaller than the upper reservoir and not many birds there. Then headed up to the College of Micronesia (COM) and strolled around the campus looking at the old Japanese towers from WWII. It is a nice if not small campus.

Both kids and adults lined the road along the lagoon waiting for Santa. This was an exciting morning for everyone!

These two had been waiting for a while then  had to run home to get the younger brothers and sisters.

Here comes Santa!!!!! The police truck and fire truck and the float and lots of cars made up the parade.

Santa and his helpers tossed out candies to the kids. And the kids were ready with their baggies.

The good Senator Jesse.

The choir sang a few songs for us. The name sounds something like KT Choir. I am sure there is a different spelling.

There were games and dancing games for the kids and teens. She was great - beautiful smile and a lot of rhythm. Her parents must keep a close eye on her!

Nu-Nus (head wreaths) out of tinsel and Santa hats were everywhere.

This is what happens when even the best politician talks too long.

Had a wonderful three and one half hour walk to COM. More pictures soon. With luck, Litia from Public Health picked me up near the lagoon at 6:59 - one minute to the chorale presentation along the lagoon - I was about an eighth  of a mile from there-  so close. It was a wonderful evening - two hours of sitting on the lawn listening to music under the palm trees with Christmas lights, trade winds at about 10 knots to kep it cooler (relative term), a beautiful star lit sky and the company of Heidi and Amos and their four children. They call me "Aunt Dr. Rosemary". Cute.
